AMBULANCE DRIVER TRAINING

If you are over 18 years of age and have passed your car driving test after January 1, 1997, you need a LGV C1 licence to drive an ambulance or any other rigid medium goods vehicle with a maximum authorised mass (MAM) ranging between 3500kg and 7500kg.
Once the instructor at Hitch & Tow Training Ltd assesses your skill level with the help of a free assessment drive, you will be advised on the training hours required to prepare you for the C1 test. BEFORE YOU START THE LGV C1 COURSE, YOU NEED:

  • A medical check: An LGV/HGV medical carried out by your local GP or through an online medical company before obtaining the provisional licence.
  • Licence application: Submit application documents for your provisional LGV C1 licence entitlement D2 from DVLA.
  • Pass tests: Complete your LGV theory and hazard perception tests
